A study published by the Standish Group in 1995 states that 31 out of 100 software development projects are cancelled without any useable results. In 1995 81 billion dollars had been invested in software projects which never finished. For 53% of all projects, planned costs had been exceeded by more than 50%. The most common reasons for failed or cost exceeding projects are late change requests from end users, overlooked tasks and insufficient communication between end user and analyst or engineer. To guarantee the success of your project, we place considerable importance on the analysis and design of the technical and functional requirements of your problem definition. In addition to the creation of a detailed specification, the clear and unambiguous definition of the project goals, the analysis of the feasibilities, the investigation of the relation between project goals and costs, and the determination of the required resources are part of this process. Furthermore the planning process includes the definition of the essential project phases and activities, the binding timetables as well as the scheduling of required resources and the determination of exact costs. We pay special attention to interfaces to other systems which interact with new solutions and either provide or consume information or data. Such interfaces are widely used, but they are often not regarded with the required attention. New interfaces are designed with the users and administrators of affected systems, references to existing interface specifications are included, and if necessary conditions for the transformation of data are arranged. Due to our longstanding experience in the realization of a variety of projects, we built up extensive know-how in the analysis and design of software and system solutions and can make use of a broad spectrum of methods and tools for these processes, whereas for every enterprise and project individual environmental conditions must be taken into account.
